Pregnancy Checks & Ultrasound

We offer ultrasound pregnancy checks to help monitor breeding success and herd planning. Whether confirming early pregnancy or checking fetal development, our team provides accurate, timely information to support both experienced producers and those new to managing cattle or fair animals.

We also take ultrasounds of calves' lungs to check for respiratory diseases.

C-Section & Emergency Delivery

When calving complications occur, timely veterinary care is critical for the health of both the cow and calf. We provide emergency delivery assistance and C-section procedures when needed, responding quickly and using careful surgical technique to give animals the best possible outcome.

Disbudding

At Garrett Veterinary Service, we perform disbudding in young calves before horns have attached to the skull. This quick procedure helps prevent future horn growth, improving safety for both animals and handlers while supporting easier herd management.

Dehorning

We provide dehorning services for cattle with fully developed horns when needed for safety or management. Our team focuses on proper technique, pain management, and aftercare to ensure each animal’s comfort and smooth recovery.

Disbudding can be performed on young animals when the horn buds are forming but are not yet attached to the skull (generally under 8 weeks of age). This procedure is less invasive than dehorning. Dehorning is a more invasive procedure performed after the horn has attached to the skull. Removing the horns at this sateg creates more risk for the animals.

We strongly recommend disbudding at a young age when possible.
